Chevrolet has a new gift for vroom lovers. The all-new 2019 Corvette ZR1 has finally made an appearance in the City of Gold and we can’t take our eyes off of it! The Dubai Auto Show was definitely the perfect to unveil the supercar, given that General Motors has put in a lot of sweat and moolah in making the next-gen Corvette a luxurious whip.
The orange bodywork of the Corvette is easy on the eyes and the very first look at the vehicle will get your pulse racing, but that’s not all. The makers wanted a refreshing piece and what’s more refreshing than tangerine brake calipers, rocker and splitter accent stripes, seat belts, interior stitching and a unique bronze aluminum interior trim? They are calling it the Sebring Orange Design Package, and we think it’s so revitalising it’s almost edible!
General Motors have paid attention to the tiniest of details for the ZR1 to be a razor smooth fast drive. They have improved the cooling of the car by giving it a “special carbon-fiber “halo” hood” that has an opening in the middle, and they have even reworked the wings of the supercar to maximise downforce and reduce drag.
The word you’re hunting for is “steamy”, and the ZR1 is not just steamy because of how it looks but also because it’s deadlier than a stallion on heat. Chevrolet worked in a LT5 6.2L V-8 supercharged engine that is capable of pumping out 755hp that can make it reach a top speed of nearly 338kmph. This makes the ZR1 the most powerful Corvette yet. The driver can control this baby with a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission in order to put the metal to the test.
Oh, and oh! What’s a quick lap without some nice music blaring in the background (or some soothing Beethoven to keep you from going overboard with excitement, if that’s your kind of thing), which is why Chevrolet packed in a Bose sound system.
International roads will be graced with its presence early next year and it appears that Chevrolet will be manufacturing 3000 units annually. There is no intelligence on its price tag, but General Motor’s newest offering won’t be easy on the pocket. From where we see it, the new Corvette is nothing short of perfect, and will be worth every penny spent!
