Twitter is primarily blamed or should we say credited for rolling out insane and hilarious memes on almost anything and everything under the sun. In all honesty, we love to read and re-read those tweets time and again and shamelessly share all those memes with our friends. But, this time around we won’t talk about any funny memes, or tweets crafted by trolls. Instead we will share a piece of information that has left our hearts beaming with pride. The Home Ministry has launched a Twitter handle for the families of the martyrs who lost their lives while fighting in the line of duty.
The account, named @BharatKeVeer has been started to provide funds to help family members of paramilitary personnel who were killed while fighting extremists to protect the country. The website and the app were launched in April by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who is currently busy with his film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, also took to Twitter to share the news. He is the one who proposed this idea. Two months back, Akshay Kumar had launched the website and the app where he said that “This website has been made exactly in two and a half months. About three months, this idea came in my mind, while watching a documentary film on terrorists, which showed how terror leaders financially support the families of the terrorists who carry out the terror acts.”

So how does this work? People can go to the portal and contribute financially. That money will then be transferred directly into the bank account of a late soldier’s family.

We are extremely proud of actor Akshay Kumar and the Home Ministry for coming up with such a great idea to help the families of martyrs who did every possible thing to protect us from external threats.
